In order to get the option to add widgets to your iPhone lock screen, you will need to have updated your iPhone to iOS16 or newer.

To add widgets to your lock screen, open your Settings. Select Wallpaper. At the bottom of the lock screen, tap Customize. Now tap Add Widgets. In the menu that appears, select the Google app you’d like to add a lock screen widget for. Note you must have these corresponding apps installed and signed in on your device in order to get them as options in the widget menu. The Gmail widget will allow you to see how many new messages you have in your inbox. The Google app has a few different search options, with widgets for regular search, voice search, google lens to search with images, or lens shortcuts to quickly access your favourite lens feature such as translation, shopping, or even solving equations. With the Google Maps widgets, you can get directions and estimated arrival times to places you frequently navigate to, or search the maps app. With Google News, you can see the latest news headlines on your lock screen. Simply tap one of these widgets to add it to your lock screen. You can add up to 4 widgets in this space depending on size. The larger widgets occupy 2 spaces. Once you’ve added your widgets you can drag them around to rearrange them how you’d like. When you’re finished, tap Done in the top right corner. After that, your new Google widgets are all set up and ready to use. Tap one of these widgets to open the corresponding page in the app for that widget.
